So why choose to learn to ski or board with Neilson? Learn to turn logo
  1. We offer the perfect resorts for learning. Our 28 Learn to Turn resorts are our top recommended resorts for beginners.
  2. We provide complete beginners ski holidays. Our Skier's and Snowboarder's Packs - Level 0 include all the ski or board essentials for your first week and are organised for your arrival in resort. Just remember to pre-book them before you travel as they will not be available in resort and the individual elements will work out more expensive.
  3. Our reps are the best! During the week, your Neilson rep will be on hand to offer advice at the most important times, such as helping at ski fitting, guiding you to ski school, showing you the best spots on the mountain to practice your new found skills and organising a fun-packed programme of aprés ski activities.
  4. It's great fun! Not only will you experience the thrill of learning a new sport, you'll be outdoors, breathing in the fantastic fresh mountain air, meeting new friends and having lots of laughs along the way.

To Ski or Board?

Ask the question in our office and you’ll get a very mixed response. There is no right answer. Both skiing and snowboarding are easy to pick up. Some, (not all) argue that learning to ski is easier than learning to snowboard, but at the end of the day, we all head to the mountains to do the same thing; have fun!

If you’re a first-time boarder, be prepared to spend the first few days on your bottom but after that you’ll be performing graceful turns in no time at all. They say to give it three days, then all that advice and practice will click together and you should advance quickly, some would say quicker than skiers.

It's Who You Know That Counts

Consider what your friends and family will be doing. If you are going on a holiday with a group of skiers, it may be better to learn to ski as they can help you along when you’re not in lessons. Similarly, if you’re going with a group of snowboarders, it may be best to learn to board, especially as your group may want to head to boarder friendly areas and parks.
