Off Piste Skiing Holidays
If you’re looking for challenging off-piste skiing or boarding we can recommend some
world-class resorts for serious consideration. All enjoy more than their fair share of challenging terrain and copious amounts of fresh powder.
Ski Off Piste in the Alps
In search of quality powder in the Alps? Off piste skiing can be easily found in numerous resorts in
Austria,
France and
Italy. They are also excellent destinations in which to celebrate your powder accomplishments, offering some of the best après ski in the world.
Back Country in North America
Champagne powder, that's what
USA and
Canadian resorts are famous for. It maybe too dry for snowball fights but the North American white stuff is perfect for experts wanting to ski off piste to explore the amazing back country terrain and test their powder technique.
Safety First
With more people than ever exploring unpatrolled areas, it’s vital to know the dangers and be prepared with essential safety equipment. If you’re going off-piste, we always recommend you take a professional guide with you. We also vouch for
specialist ski courses offered by many ski schools such as transceiver and avalanche awareness sessions.
Taking your own Equipment?
If you’re taking your own equipment or borrowing a friend’s, remember to pre-book your ski or snowboard carriage. For Winter 2010/11 the price is £30 return (with a maximum of 10kgs per £30 charge paid). That gives you the peace of mind that space has been reserved on your flight for your equipment. In the unlikely event that your equipment has to be off-loaded (usually due to space/weight restrictions), it will be forwarded to your resort as quickly as possible and we will provide replacement equipment until it arrives. Leave it until you get to the airport and you run the risk of there not being enough space, plus it will cost you a minimum of £45.
