Here at Neilson, we've teamed up with our good friends over at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead. If you're planning your first holiday to the mountains, heading back for more, or maybe it's the annual family ski holiday, you’ll need to visit The Snow Centre - the UK’s newest, real snow, indoor skiing centre before you go.
It's London’s closest real snow skiing, snowboarding and sledging destination, and the perfect place to learn to ski before your holiday.
With a massive 160m main slope, a separate teaching slope (the largest in the UK) and The Lodge Bar & Kitchen overlooking the slopes providing all the fuel you need, the centre welcomes around 230,000 skiers and snowboarders every year.
Many guests are completely new to snow, while others visit to practice their skills or warm up their ski legs before they hit the mountains. But, whether you’re in need of ski lessons before your trip, you’re a seasoned pro, or you’re looking for a family fun day out, The Snow Centre offers lessons, lift passes and rental for all the kit you'll need.

Learn before your ski holiday
It doesn’t matter if you’re an adult or child, skier or snowboarder, beginner or expert, The Snow Centre can help you learn something new before your ski holiday. Offering a range of adult ski or snowboard lessons from complete beginner right up to skills development and freestyle tricks coaching; at The Snow Centre you can choose whether you want to join others in group lessons or have a private 1:1 lesson.
Lessons can be anything from a 1-hour private lesson to a full day. There’s even private family lessons available so you can learn together! Meanwhile, juniors can learn to ski or snowboard at as young as 3-years-old on private lessons, 4-years-old on group ski lessons and 7-years-old on group snowboard lessons.
From complete beginners right through to SnowStars ski academy coaching club and freestyle ski or snowboard coaching, there’s so much for youngsters to learn on the slopes at The Snow Centre. Skis, snowboards, boots, poles and helmets are included with lessons and you don't need to purchase a lift pass when you book a lesson, it’s already included in the price.
Warm up your existing skills
If you’re already an experienced skier or snowboarder, challenge yourself with some indoor skiing on The Snow Centre’s 160m main slope. Lift passes are available starting from one hour to a month so there’s a pass that suits everyone.
Plus, equipment rental is included with all lift passes at no extra cost, that's skis, snowboards, boots, poles and helmets!
Get park ready
If you’ve ever seen skiers and snowboarders landing tricks on the snow and in the park and wondered how they do it - here’s your chance to learn.
The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead offers freestyle trick coaching and runs park nights and sessions, so you can practice your moves on rails, jumps, boxes, on the snow and in the air.

Home to the all fun, no skills required Ringo Slides, The Snow Centre could have you racing, spinning and sliding your way to the bottom of their custom-built slopes in no time.

A taste of the Alps overlooking the slopes
The Snow Centre’s Alpine dining experience, The Lodge Bar & Kitchen provides panoramic views of the Hemel Hempstead slopes and is great place to unwind after your on-snow session.
No booking necessary at The Lodge, just simply sit back, relax and enjoy an authentic Après ski atmosphere, indulge in delicious food, have a drink or two and watch the action on the slopes.
