I feel it’s really important to keep active in times such as these! The world can seem so tough sometimes but keeping active is one of the best things you can do to ensure you are staying healthy and pro-active, even if it’s just going on a walk.
Personally, I find it difficult at home to keep motivated, whereas when the gym was open, I was able to go most days and do my fitness in another space rather than my home. “Joe Wicks” was a name which I kept hearing everywhere, and I thought I better give his workout videos a try and now I love working out at home! I have been trying to ensure I do a workout 5 mornings a week and I find having a routine has really helped me to stay focused through the days!
After my workout, I will usually try to take a walk in the afternoon and listen to a podcast! I find these keep my brain whirling, meaning I am able to ensure I am getting my active on, both mentally and physically! I am lucky enough to be in a house with some of my best friends, which I think is a really lucky position to be in throughout these uncertain times, as we are able to encourage each other and lift each other up if someone is having a bad day. I realise some people are sadly not in the same position, so it’s really important to make use of some of the technological devices we use, such as FaceTime or zoom to stay connected with family and friends, as times like this can feel very lonely and isolating.
I have been doing some zoom competitions with my cousins, such as who can get the most steps in during the day! I feel we have to make the most of the time we have now, and ensuring you are keeping active is the one of the best things you can do to help!
