The Alexandre is a bit like the resort it's in; a great all-rounder. It's quaint and cosy with the rustic styling you'd expect yet versatile enough that larger groups will have no problem fitting in comfortably.

You have your own sauna in the chalet so there's no excuse for aching muscles after a day on the mountain, so après-ski doesn't have to just be about afternoon tea and cake!

The large lounge/diner is the heart of the chalet. Grab a board game, a slice of cake and a drink and sink in to the deep sofas and battle it out over the huge solid coffee table. And when your host serves up your evening meal, just head over to the long, banquet-style dining table to enjoy free-flowing wine and delicious regional specialities.

The location of the chalet within the resort is great. It's on a small side street opposite a school so it's very quiet in the evenings. The nearest lifts, shops and bars etc are only a few minutes walk, so just because it's quiet doesn't mean you're isolated.

About the resort

A great example of an all-rounder. Long hours of sunshine (when it's not snowing) and snowsure slopes certainly help, but Les Deux Alpes is all about the variety of things to do, both on and off the mountain.

A superb resort for families, groups and all standards of skier or boarder. Beginner slopes near the resort and on the glacier make it a great place to learn whilst enjoying the glorious mountains rising up all around you. Intermediates have plenty to choose from, while experts should hire a guide and test their freeriding ability on the legendary off-piste runs of the ominously named La Grave.

The resort is large and well laid out with two main roads; one in, one out. Along each road, you'll come across an excellent range of sports shops, gift shops, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and budgets. The après-ski is as lively as you want it to be with over 40 bars, restaurants and nightclubs on your doorstep.
