When it comes to family-friendly ski destinations, all resorts are not created equal. Getting the right resort is the first step to planning your family ski holiday - choosing a resort with great ski schools, easy-to-access nursery slopes, a compact town centre and lots of activities off the mountain can make all the difference.
Whatever the age of your children, we think the recipe for keeping them (and therefore you) happy on a family ski holiday is pretty similar. Take them to a resort that lets them experience all the wonder and adventure of being in the mountains - with plenty of creature comforts on hand to keep them warm and entertained.
Our Neilson Kids' clubs are available to book for ages 4 months to 12 years at our Hotel Del Clos in Andorra, and Hotel Le Menuire & Spa in France. The perfect addition to your holiday, so that every member of the family gets to make the best snowy memories.
France
Les Menuires A smaller and quieter town within the immense Three Valley's ski area but it still offers great choice and it's not as expensive as some of the other larger resorts. The local ski area is considered a great choice for beginners and families, and with our Neilson-run kids' clubs at the Hotel Le Menuire & Spa, France can open up to be a great, affordable family holiday.
There's a multitude of winter activities to do on or off the slopes in Les Menuires. In the town itself, you can enjoy a movie, dive into the swimming pool or even take the family on a thrilling rail toboggan, (think of a roller coaster but seated in a sledge). On the mountain, you will be spoilt for choice as a family, from toddler snow playgrounds, dog sledging, snow groomer rides and even a visit to a mountain farm. Oh and not forgetting of course, you can ski all day too.

Andorra
El Tarter The twin villages of Soldeu and El Tarter both offer plenty of beautiful runs in the heart of the vast Grandvalira ski area. The wide, uncrowded pistes are ideal for beginner and intermediate skiers of all ages to build their confidence and skills on.
If your young family loves a chilled-out resort, opt for El Tarter – the quieter of the two villages. Here you’ll find relaxed restaurants and an unhurried vibe, along with our fun Neilson-run kids’ club for children aged 4 months upwards at the Neilson Hotel Del Clos– there’s plenty to get the family excited about skiing in El Tarter. As well as the husky rides at the top of the El Tarter gondola, there's the Mont magic family park in Canillo. If the younger kids are not able to ski over to Canillo, there's a bus that runs from El Tarter to Canillo every 10-15 minutes.
